1. The Final Product; the Home Renovation is Finished

Done!  It has taken one year, however, we have finally arrived at the end of the project.  We began demolition on our home October 1, 2014 and we just concluded with an open house to celebrate. It is now one year and three weeks later.

Exterior of HouseThe home is modest; three bedrooms, one and a half baths, and only 1470 square feet. We love the style and the architecture of the home, however the floor plan wasn't conducive to the way we live, and we find that there are rooms in the house that we seldom used.

The house has charm, that is apparent from the moment that you approach it.  Our intention is to maintain the integrity of the style and the period, 1926, but update it and rework the floor plan.

Front Garden EntranceFour years ago we landscaped the front yard with new hardscape, and removed the front lawn.  The entrance was created with a courtyard and an iron gate.  The motif of the gate was repeated on the railing surrounding the front porch entrance.

You can see the beautiful bas relief detail in the plaster surrounding the front door.  By the way, the jury is still out on the color the door should be.  (We are open to suggestions)!
